I find that this is the most fundamental element of losing weight - your frame of mind. If you're not in the right 'mind-set', then
losing weight is the biggest battle you will face. Weight loss motivation has to be worked on daily.
Below are some suggestions to help you with your positive thinking and weight loss motivation to help bring your weight loss goals nearer to
you.
Confidence
You must be positive in order to achieve your weight loss goals. This is the key to your success. You must truly believe that
without a doubt you will get there and reach your target weight and the desired shape you want.
Think positively about this every single day. If negative thoughts get into your head, quickly throw them out and replace them with
these positive ones. This will help you stay motivated.
Picture You
One of the most powerful weight loss motivators to achieving your desired goal is picturing yourself being slim.
Think about how great you'll feel when you step on to the scales and see the weight you want to be.
Imagine what fantastic clothes you'll be wearing and what about all that extra energy you will have! Think and apply these positive
feelings and images in your mind on a daily basis. Think that you are already there - you are at your weight loss
goal.
Once you think it - the reality will follow!
Motivators
Here are some weight loss motivation ideas to help you focus on your target.
- To be able to fit into my size 14/12/10 jeans
- To be size ____ for the upcoming wedding
- To be size ____ for my upcoming holiday
- To be able to play actively with my children/grandchildren
- To be able to feel sexy again
- To be able to look in the mirror and actually like what I see
- To get that man/women that I have had my eye on...
- To be proud that I have achieved a goal
Now find one or two weight loss motivators for you personally and then write them down and stick them in a place that you see everday.
For example, stick a 'fat' photo of you with the words 'I will fit into my size __ dress for that forthcoming wedding' underneath it and stick it
inside of the door of a food cupboard. So everytime you open the cupboard to get out a biscuit, cake or whatever you will be faced with
this weight loss motivation challenge!
Or you could hang up an item on the outside of your wardrobe door of a piece of clothing that is too small for you. Then everytime you
walk into your bedroom you see your size 12 jeans and say 'yes, I am going to fit into you soon!'
