How Does Exercise Help Us Lose Weight?
Exercise not only burns up calories but burns fat. To effectively burn fat you should
concentrate on aerobic exercise.

Now don't panic. This doesn't mean that you have to do high intensity exercise such as squash or running. As long as you work up
enough energy to give you a slight sweat and be slightly out of breath, then that will be sufficient.
The aim is to slightly raise your heart rate - not put it through the roof.
Your aim is to do a minimum of 20 minutes of this moderate aerobic exercise between 3-5 times a week. Obviously the more you can do the
better results you will have.

Physical Job?
If you have a physical job, then you won't need to concentrate as much on exercise activity as you are already getting your daily
activity allowance. Physical jobs that can burn calories include:

True Case Study
My husband started a new job as a Postman six months ago. He was always a fit person, cycling or doing weights, but with
having a young family all that got put on the backburner.
He wasn't really overweight, he could only do with losing about 71bs or so. Sean has a very sweet tooth and loves
chocolate, cakes and biscuits.
His part-time Postmans job gives him a starting time of 8.00am and getting home around 2.00pm. He would have his usual
porridge for breakfast and take some nuts and raisens with him to nibble on throughout his round.
These hours meant that he was missing out on his lunch. In previous jobs he would take a packed lunch of sandwiches and
snack bars, so he was missing out on these.
When he got home at 2.00pm(ish) he would just have a yoghurt and a cup of tea (with biscuits). Then he would have his
normal meal at dinner time. He now tends to have a little supper (toast) since he misses out on a lunch.
His postmans round takes him to about 8 miles per day. He delivers to many high-rise flats so he climbs a lot of
stairs.
Within 3 months of doing this job, Sean lost 1 stone! This was mainly due to the amount of walking (and stair climbing) but
also to cutting out on his lunch of sandwiches (but snacking on nuts and raisens). He still has his
fix of chocolate and biscuits, but it is definately the energetic job that has done it for Sean. Therefore, he doesn't need to do any other
form of exercise to lose weight.
So as you can see, an 'energetic job' is one of the best exercises to lose weight quickly!
