Does Water Make You Lose Weight ?
How To Drink Water To Lose Weight
Many people ask the questions...

"Does drinking water make you lose weight?" and
"Is this a myth?"
Well, I am here to tell you that it is not a myth and drinking water does indeed help you lose weight.
Background Information
You might be surprised to learn this but drinking water is actually the single most important thing you can do to improve your
ability to lose weight.
After all it's free, or cheap, has no fat, carbs or calories. Also there have been many studies printed where patients have
lost 30-40 lbs over a period of time by selecting water as their choice of beverage.
Our bodies are made up of 75% water and our brain is made up of 85% water. We need to maintain these amounts of water in
our bodies in order for them to function properly.
However, we naturally lose approximately 2.5 litres of water a day purely by our bowel movements, urine and sweat. This is
telling us that our bodies are getting rid of waste and toxins.
I hope you are still with me on this. We need to keep drinking plenty of water in order to help our bodies continually
flush out these toxins. If we don't replenish the 2.5 litres of water lost, then toxins and waste will build up in our bodies.
So to conclude on this point, if we don't drink enough water, we can actually gain wait through water retention, slow down our
metaboism and we might want to eat more as we mistake thirst for hunger.
How To Drink Water To Lose Weight
Now we know why we need to drink water to lose weight, do you know how much we need to
drink?
It is suggested that we should drink between 1.25-2.25 litres of water a day.
However, the amount will differ for each person and you will need to drink more if you exercise, are in a hot climate or sweat a
lot.
The experts suggest to drink 15-22 ml for every pound of your body weight. Because someone who weighs 100 pounds will need
less water than a 350 pound person.
Additional Tips
-
If you don't drink much water at the moment, slowly build your water intake up to your required level;
-
Drink filtered water or bottled water for a purer and better taste;
-
Put in a squeeze of lemon or lime juice to add flavour, boost metabolism and help flush the
kidneys;
-
Constantly sip water throughout the day. If you only drink whe you feel thirsty you have left it too long as you are
dehydrated;
-
Drink water when you are hungry. This can help relieve hunger pangs;
-
Drink two glasses of water 30 minutes before each meal.
Does It Work - Does Water Make You Lose Weight?
Yes it does for all the above reasons. I drank just over 2 litres a day (with a dash of lemon concentrate) for a week and I
lost 3 1b that week.
However, I am only 5.2" and I found that that was too much water for me to consume. I now drink about 1.5 litres of
water a day and the pounds are steadily coming off me.
